How To Best Wear a Chiffon Blouse
Wearing a chiffon blouse makes you feel
both elegant and beautiful! One of my favorite wardrobe pieces is sheer chiffon
because it's versatile and the sheer nature of the fabric suggests your
seductiveness. When you wear chiffon clothing, you exude an air of femininity,
and it makes you look like a cool million buck babe!
What Makes Chiffon Sing?
OK, chiffon is one of the most popular
sheer fabrics. It is ultra-thin and semi-transparent, extremely lightweight and
is made from materials like silk, cotton or synthetics, which determines
chiffon's price, look and feel.
Chiffon is your cool summer piece because
of its lightness against your skin. Its sheer, light and billowy nature make it
easy for you to drape around your body beautifully.
What about silk chiffon? I am sure you'll
like it because it has a shimmer to the finish. Plus it has a very floaty
feeling to the fabric. If you compare it with synthetic chiffon, which is
stiffer and slightly heavier to wear, hence, I would go for silk chiffon anytime.
(Note: Similar fabrics to chiffon are
georgette and crepes which all fall beautifully across your body, as they are
sheer and lightweight too)
How To Wear Chiffon
For ages, we ladies have loved chiffon and
have used it for gowns and skirts or as layers for wedding dresses, in
lingerie, blouses, and accessories (like scarves).
I always like the idea of wearing chiffon
layers over an evening dress, giving your gown that floaty, ethereal quality
while also sharpening your femininity.
If you wear chiffon in your workplace,
you'll need a slip or camisole underneath as it usually does have a level of
sheerness; or else buy a blouse that has a built-in cami.
You can dress up your sheer, chiffon blouse
with your dress pants and stilettos. You can keep it casual with a long tank
top and leggings.
Though the blouse/shirt is slightly
loose-fitting and flowing, the sheer nature of the fabric exposes your curves
while maintaining a semi-transparent subtle elegance!
You look fabs if you pair a sheer white
blouse with a black lacy tank top and black pants! The brilliant combo
transforms you into an alluring silhouette with a classy twist and is a snug
piece both for work and play!
Whether you want to stay casual or class it
up with a chiffon blouse, I believe this style will make you look and feel
feminine, beautiful and classy, without showing too much of your skin and yet
making a feminine statement......
Chiffon Care
Chiffon is beautiful and nice to wear, but
its delicate fabric needs your extra care and attention to keep it in good,
great condition....
So, don’t wear chiffon with jewelry that can
catch. This is because the fabric is
like a fine mesh which can catch easily and once you pull a thread, you've
spoilt the whole garment.
Washing chiffon – dry-clean your silk
chiffon; handwash your synthetic chiffon. Don't throw your chiffon clothes into
your washing machine as it can be damaged during the spin cycle.
Ironing – check the ironing instructions,
set the iron to cool mode. For extra
protection, you can iron chiffon under a
tea towel or similar material.
